Our History

Wallace, Martin, Duke & Russell, PLLC is the successor law firm to James R. Wallace & Associates, P.A., which was founded by James R. Wallace in 1975. The firm was founded James Wallace's simple philosophy: provide the best legal service for businesses and families across a wide range of legal needs. We live that philosophy every day here in his memory. Because of that, Wallace, Martin, Duke & Russell is recognized as a quality law firm that assists families, small businesses, and others with a wide range of legal needs.

The firm is rated AV in Martindale-Hubbell, which is an objective rating system for attorneys based upon two components; General Ethical Standards and Legal Ability. Our firm has received the highest honors in each category, with a “V” – Very High rating for General Ethical Standards and an “A” – Very High to Preeminent rating in Legal Ability.

Wallace, Martin, Duke & Russell has strived since its founding to provide both competent and compassionate representation for its clients and all members of the firm are committed to those objectives. Our law firm is still committed to region-wide representation of a cross-section of the community, providing excellent legal services over a wide range of legal fields.

Our Little Rock office is on the first floor of the historic Centre Place building in the heart of downtown Little Rock. One block from the Pulaski County Courthouse, across the street from the Federal Bankruptcy Courthouse, and only three blocks from the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

Our Austin office in located in the central business district just blocks from the University of Texas in the Hyde Park neighborhood.

Our firm has attorneys who are licensed in several states including Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama where they regularly appear in state court. Our attorneys also practice in the United States District Courts throughout Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee. Our firm has attorneys who are able to appear before the Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
